Policy on Academic Use of ExpertNegotiator
TEACHERS AND PRIVATE NEGOTIATION TRAINERS actively involved in negotiation training courses may use ExpertNegotiator strictly for academic purposes without payment of a fee. STUDENTS enrolled in a negotiation training course may use ExpertNegotiator strictly for academic purposes by purchasing a student license. "Academic purposes" include, but are not limited to:
- class preparation and assignments
- use associated with mock or simulated negotiations
- use by a teaching assistant to a professor (either paid or unpaid)
- use during an unpaid internship, externship or clinic for school credit
- other purposes determined at the sole discretion of ExpertNegotiator
"Academic purposes" do not include use for a law firm, corporation or other entity that is paying the teacher, student or private negotiation trainer to conduct said negotiations or that is passing along the costs of said negotiations to a third party. These are deemed "commercial purposes."
Teachers, students and private negotiation trainers using ExpertNegotiator for commercial purposes risk forfeiture of their license until payment of applicable subscription fees.
Teachers, students and private negotiation trainers who have questions as to whether their proposed use of ExpertNegotiator is permitted under these guidelines can contact ExpertNegotiator at 480-951-6116 for assistance. Students who purchase a student license are eligible to receive a nine-month free trial account upon the conclusion of their class or training course. Students must contact ExpertNegotiator at 480-951-6116 to request their free trial account, the terms of which are governed by the Trial Edition and common sections of the Master Subscription Agreement.
For full-time teachers in academic institutions, your use of ExpertNegotiator without a fee will continue for as long as you are actively employed as a teacher.
For part-time or adjunct teachers in academic institutions, your use of ExpertNegotiator without a fee will continue while you teach negotiation or related courses, including during periods in which you are not actively teaching but may be preparing to teach. For instance, a teacher may have a negotiation course in the fall but not spring, in which case they may use ExpertNegotiator without a fee for that entire year.
For private negotiation trainers, your use of ExpertNegotiator without a fee will continue in preparation for, during and in follow up to your private negotiation training programs, provided that you use ExpertNegotiator in your private negotiation training programs.
